Consider the Differences Between Compact vs Full-Size Spare Tires

A tire blowout can put a halt to your drive. If you keep a spare tire in your car, you can get back on the road and to your destination. When choosing between a full-size and a compact temporary - or donut tire - you should know the pros and cons.

A full-size tire is the same size as your other tires. Therefore, it should not interfere with your ABS or traction control. The downside is that you'll need to have more space inside your vehicle for it. A donut is narrower, taking up less space than a full-size. Due to its size, it may interfere with ABS and traction control and should be used only to get to a tire shop. Most manufacturers recommend limiting driving speed with a donut.

At Savannah Fiat, we want you to have a safe drive. If you need tires, we offer full tire replacement service.
